Hope

To Home

Driven by the need to create a solution to housing instability and the belief that collaboration strengthens services, the Ada Jenkins CenterThe Hope House Foundation and Habitat for Humanity Charlotte have developed an initiative called Hope to Home.

All three organizations serve families experiencing housing instability and provide parallel programing. Collaboration evolved through conversations resulting in a shared Johnson C. Smith University intern and now Hope to Home now provides the programming bridge, removes barriers and eliminates duplication of services.

Hope to Home serves families faced with issues related to poverty and homelessness who meet the criteria and agree to all program guidelines. Hope to Home guests are offered a teaching home model designed to identify areas of individual growth and assist families in developing the skills needed for sustainability and self-sufficiency.  This model provides coordinated services with a safe and affordable living environment including a well-organized integration of services that are key to economic mobility. Coordinated services include the whole family, focusing on safe affordable housing, education, career development, health, financial literacy, family and child stability, and build connections amongst individuals marked by reciprocity, trust, and cooperation.
