The M. family is now safer at home

During our Festival of Services, the M. family learned about the Davidson Housing Coalition’s HAMMERS emergency home repair program, and inquired about possible repairs to their home. An Ada Jenkins Center case manager helped them complete their HAMMERS application and eligibility forms.

A quick visit revealed that the home needs several repairs — including a new window in the daughter’s bedroom, a replacement for their 30-year-old shower, replacement HVAC duct work throughout the home, and the outside steps brought up to code.

Many thanks to American Freedom HVAC for offering to provide the HVAC upgrades at no cost to the homeowner — and to our partners Caterpillar Ministries and Davidson Housing Coalition as we work together to assist our families in gaining safe and stable housing.

If you know of someone who could use a little help like the M. family, please contact our Economic Mobility team.
